This is the road where my family and I live. My heritage rests on a lot of the land here and still today many of my friends and distant family still live and farm here as well. The beauty of this West Virginia countryside is simply breathtaking!
Photographer’s Prayer
Oh God, as I bring my subject into focus and prepare to make each portrait,
never let me forget that I’m creating treasures for a family, a keepsake for
loved ones. Make me sensitive to the qualities and virtues of others, so that
I may draw out into the light, the beautiful radiant belongings of their hearts.
Help me to be an artist, collecting the beauty of every soul, the glow of
youth, the gentleness, the laughter or tears of each life that is precious in
Thy sight. Deeper than a means of livelihood, give me the perspective
to see my photographer’s art as a service to others, making life
richer and more memorable.
And, dear Lord, between the lights and shadows, the ups and downs
and the rolling years, keep me from getting out of focus or off center,
so that my life and work may be framed with dignity
and colored with contentment.

We recently rescued this little guy, Lucky – he is as sweet as can be! He had been hit by a car and left to die with a mangled leg. He picked us to rescue him but we couldn’t afford to pay for the surgery to amputate his leg. Thanks to many of our beloved Facebook friends who donated money and helped spread the word about this little guy, we were able to get his surgery and he is now making a full recovery!. My dad instantly fell in love, he is a huge dog lover, and has decided to keep him. So that means we get to babysit Lucky along with his other 2 dogs, during the day while he works. During one of my last photo shoots in the back yard, Lucky decided he was going to get in on the action! He has never met a stranger and loves everyone! I thought this photo was a perfect fit for this challenge at I heart faces!

Happy 50th Anniversary to the Meadows! 50 years of marriage is quite AMAZING! Very inspiring couple, I was in complete awe of the entire family! They are all truly beautiful and so hospitable! It was a special privilege to photograph this anniversary party.
